Frequently Asked Questions
How much do you charge?
I charge $200/hr and I have a $100 minimum. If you would like a price estimate for your tattoo idea, you can email me with a description of your idea, as well as an idea of size and placement of the tattoo.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes, a non-refundable deposit is required to book any appointment. Please read the entire deposit policy thoroughly, as you are responsible for reading and understanding the deposit guidelines.
Do you accept walk-ins?
I work by appointment only. On occasion I may participate in flash events which are walk-in only events where you can get pre-drawn designs tattooed that day. If one of these events is coming up, it will be announced on my Instagram, or you can stay up to date by signing up for email updates below.
Are you booking new appointments right now?
You can see the current status of my books by visiting the booking page. I also post all booking announcements on my Instagram, or you can stay up to date by signing up for email updates below.
When do I get to see my tattoo design?
Although I do try my best to get designs ready a few days in advance, sometimes my hands are a bit too full and I may not be able to have your design ready until the day of your appointment. Because of this, I never guarantee that you will see your design before the appointment date. If any minor changes need to be made to your design, they will be made that day.
How should I prepare for my tattoo appointment?
Please do not drink heavily the night before your appointment and avoid any other blood thinners the day of your appointment. Be sure to let me know if you are on any prescription blood thinners or antibiotics, and talk to your doctor beforehand if you have any life threatening conditions that can be exacerbated by the tattoo process. Also make sure you have eaten a meal beforehand and I encourage you to bring snacks or beverages to your appointment, as long as they aren’t messy. Try your best to come to your appointment well rested and well hydrated. Please make sure to wear clean and comfortable clothing that allows access to the area being tattooed. Do not wear anything that you would mind getting stained by tattoo ink as the process can sometimes be messy. Tattoo inks are made to last a long time and difficult to remove from fabric. You are welcome to bring books, headphones, or other means of distracting yourself during the tattoo process as long as they are not disruptive to those around you.
Can I use numbing cream?
Unless you have discussed it with me prior to your appointment and I have given you permission, numbing creams may not be used in preparation for your appointment. These products can have undesirable effects to the tattoo area and sometimes cause adverse reactions (swelling/irritation of the skin). If you arrive for your appointment after having used numbing cream without my consent you may be rescheduled.
Do you require masks?
Masks are not required at this time, though I will be wearing a mask during the tattooing procedure for sanitary purpose.
Can I bring friends/family?
Clients are allowed to bring one guest with them during their appointment. Please do not bring a guest who is sick or just getting over an illness.
Can I bring my child with me to my appointment?
Although I understand it can be hard to find childcare at times or find a family member who can watch them during your appointment, children are not allowed in the shop during appointments or consultations. Tattoos shops are not an appropriate place for children. If you have scheduling concerns due to having to find childcare, please let me know and I will do my best to accommodate.
I have a sunburn/scrape/bruise where I’ll be getting tattooed; is that okay?
Tattooing on damaged skin is a bad idea. Generally speaking, it can make the tattoo process more difficult and more painful, and it can negatively affect the healing process. Of course, this must be judged on a case-by-case basis by determining how severe the damage is, and how much it may affect my ability to tattoo you. If you have damaged skin in the area you will be getting tattooed within a week of your appointment, please contact me with pictures of the affected area so I can decide if we need to reschedule or not. If you do not contact me beforehand and show up with damaged skin that prevents me from being able to do your tattoo, you may have to put down another deposit before you are rescheduled. To avoid this, I highly recommend avoiding direct sunlight, contact sports, or other activities that may cause your skin to get burned, scraped, cut, bruised, or otherwise damaged for at least a week leading up to your appointment.
Do you ever travel to tattoo?
I travel for guest spots on occasion, as well as conventions once or twice a year. Travel dates and availability can be found here. Any upcoming plans will also be announced on my Instagram, or you can stay up to date by signing up for email updates below.
Do you do commissions?
Although I do love to paint and draw outside of tattooing, I don’t often have enough time for it to take on commissions. When I do have enough free time to do so, I will be sure to announce it on my Instagram.
